Greetings,
I'm Kawshalya (Kawshi) De Alwis, the founder of Kawshi’s Cakes and Treats. My journey into the world of baking and cake decorating began in March 2013 during my maternity leave for my second son. Starting with the Wilton Method of Cake Decorating, I gradually expanded my skills to include baking, fondant figure modeling, cupcakes, cake pops, personalized cookies, chocolate candies, French macarons, pastries, pies, buns, and more.
To enhance my expertise, I completed the Baking Arts and Cake Decorating programs at George Brown College in Canada, earning certification as a baker and cake decorator. I've also undertaken various courses worldwide, focusing on figure modeling, royal icing, and flower making, ensuring my skills are finely tuned to provide visually appealing products for my customers.
My husband is my unwavering support, and together we manage Kawshi’s Cakes and Treats. Despite being a full-time employee at an insurance company in North America, I am also a part-time Cake Decorating Instructor on weekends.
As a mom of two young boys, I understand the importance of creating memorable moments, and that's what we aim to achieve at Kawshi’s Cakes & Treats. Our focus is on delivering quality and specialized baked goods to meet and exceed customer satisfaction. Whether it's edible image printing or a variety of sweet treats, we strive to fulfill your expectations.
